AMHERST, N.Y.-Williamsville South beat Hamburg 5-0 in the Section 6 Class A championship Saturday afternoon at Amherst. Its the third straight Section 6 championship for the Billies.

The Billies took a 1-0 lead in the first half when senior Carissima Cutrona scored her 39th goal of the season.

In the second half sophomore Jamie Boyar made it 2-0 with her 15th of the season before Cutrona, who has verbally committed to Colgate struck again. Cutrona scored on a set play after being taken down by a defender. It was her 40th goal of the season.

Boyar added her 16th goal of the season to make it 4-0 and then Nicole Gruber added the final goal on a penalty kick.

Julia Whipple had eight saves for Hamburg.

South will play Honeoye Falls-Lima from Section 5 in the Far West Regionals next Saturday at Amherst. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 o’clock.
