AMHERST, N.Y.-Senior Carissima Cutrona scored three goals to lead Williamsville South past Sweet Home 5-2 Tuesday afternoon at Sweet Home.
With the win the Billies improve to 14-0 on the season.
South opened the scoring at the three minute mark when sophomore Jamie Boyar set up freshman Nicole Gruber. The pair combined for a second goal to give the Billies a two goal lead three minuteslater. Boyar’s shot was stopped by Hannah Clarkson but the rebound came to Gruber who fired it home.
Then Cutrona took over scoring the game’s next three goals giving her 25 on the season. Evelyn Mangold assisted on Cutrona’s first goal, Alexis Barnes on the second and Sarah Mercer on the third.
Sweet Home scored twice in the second half. Both times Samantha Herrmann set up Lindsay Spengler for the goals.
For Sweet Home Hannah Clarkson made six saves in 30 minutes of action and Mandy Rajczak made 10 saves in 50 minutes of action. Kim Brace had four saves for South.
South is home against Iroquois Thursday at 5-pm. Sweet Home is 0-14-1. The Panthers play Hamburg Thursday at home at 4:45 pm.
