It wasn’t pretty, but the Winnebago Lutheran Academy baseball team earned a share of the Flyway Conference title Thursday evening by grinding out a 1-0 win over Omro in a game that finally was made up after four postponements.

WLA (14-7, 11-3) — playing as the away team — scored the game’s only run in the top of the fifth inning. Mitch McFarlane reached on an error and moved to second base on a fielder’s choice, and then was brought home on a two-out single by Austin Wright.

Kevin Seibel picked up the pitching win, throwing three innings and giving up four hits. He pitched the fourth, fifth and seventh innings, while Maustin Otterstatter pitched the first three, sixth and seventh. Otterstatter gave up two hits and struck out five in four innings.

The Vikings tied Kettle Moraine Lutheran for the Flyway title.
