Toms River South defeated defending WOBM Christmas Classic champion Point Boro in a 53-48 first round victory on Sunday night at the Pine Belt Arena in Toms River.

Led by Victoria Alvarez, who scored nine of her 11 points in the fourth quarter, the ninth-seeded Indians outscored the eighth-seeded Panthers 24-16. Mackenzie Pepper scored nine of her team-high 16 points in the first half for the Indians.

Lindsey Havens scored 13 of her team-high 22 points in the first half for the Panthers. Jamie Pike also finished the day with 12 points for the Panthers.

JACKSON MEMORIAL 42, TOMS RIVER NORTH 37: Shena Vega finished the game with 21 points leading the sixth-seeded Jaguars over the 11th-seeded Mariners. Vega finished the game strong with 14 second-half points, also going 7 of 8 from the foul line.

Daria Jones finished with 10 points and Kelly Jamison added seven more for the Jaguars.

Nicole Gardner finished with a team-high 10 points for the Mariners.

MONSIGNOR DONOVAN 51, BRICK MEMORIAL 30: Senior Dana Carbone scored 11 of her team-high 18 points leading the fifth-seeded Griffins over the 12th-seeded Dragons. Chelsea Cerone scored 10 of her 13 points in the first quarter for the Griffins.

Nicole Byrne finished with team-high 12 points for the Dragons.

FREEHOLD TWP. 63, MANCHESTER 29: Hailee Porricelli finished with a team-high 13 points leading the fourth-seeded Patriots over the 13th-seeded Hawks. Sam Famulare added 10 points and Harlie Kneler finished with 11 points for the Patriots.

Anissia Fucci finished the game with a team-high 10 points. The Patriots will play fifth-seeded Monsignor Donovan in a quarterfinal game.

WALL 54, JACKSON LIBERTY 20: Ellen Dougherty scored all of her team-high 16 points in the first half leading the third-seeded Crimson Knights over the 14th-seeded Lions. Sydney Darby scored all eight of her points in the first quarter, and Nicole Callamaras also finished with seven points for the Crimson Knights.

Lauren Bungal and Jazmine McGee both finished with six points for the Lions.

TOMS RIVER EAST 50, SHORE 41: Amanda Kennedy finished the game with a team-high 19 points leading the 10th-seeded Raiders over the seventh-seeded Blue Devils. Kaitlin Lister also scored 10 of her 16 points in the second half for the Raiders.

Erika Ruscil finished with a team-high 14 points for the Blue Devils.
