Wrestler's act of sportsmanship

Northwest (Justin, Texas) sophomore wrestler Chris North placed second in his weight class at a 16-team tournament last Friday, but he no longer has the silver medal to show for it. That’s because North gave his medal to someone for whom it meant much more, Wakeland (Frisco, Texas) JV wrestler Alex Chappell, who was diagnosed with severe autism at age 8. MyFoxDFW.com has the full story:

“I walked around the gym and I had to find his team, and I found him sitting by himself, and I put the medal around his neck and I told him, “I won this for you, buddy,” North told Fox 4 Dallas. “He looked like a winner. He looked like a really nice kid who deserved a medal, and he deserved to feel like he won.”
