Six Genoa wrestlers were crowned champions as the Comets (230 1/2 points) won the Northwest Division III sectional championship for the second consecutive year on Saturday at Elmwood High School.

Max Reeder (132 pounds), Drew Keenan (145), Jake Fejes (152), Mike Snider (170), Jay Nino (220) and Cody Buckner (285) each brought home sectional titles for the Comets. Ryan Szymanski (160) finished second, while Brandon Bates (120) and Seth Morrison (126) brought home third-place honors. Dustin Widmer (113) and Damian D’Emilio (106) finished in fourth to qualify.

Genoa’s 11 grapplers are the most of any school in the 56-team district field.

Woodmore had two champions — Evan Ulinski at 106 and Thomas Schnitker at 113 — as the Wildcats (132 1/2) were third, behind runner-up Lake (164 1/2). Colten Datkun (120), Tony Rozzi (138) and Dylan Young (182) were runners-up, while Seth Gaghen advanced finishing third at 138.

Danbury’s Jonathon McClellan was third at 195 pounds to qualify.
