ASHBURN, Va. (WUSA9) — Two 17-year-old students at Briar Woods High School in Loudoun County have been charged with assaulting another student in the school’s locker room in October.
Officials say the two teenagers allegedly assaulted an underclassman on the junior varsity football team on Oct. 9 after regular school hours. The suspects are both members of the school’s varsity football team.
Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the circumstances surrounding the assaults after being notified by a school resource officer on Oct. 17.
A second student was identified as a possible victim during the investigation, according to Loudoun County officials. The student did not wish to proceed with any charges outside of the school. After further consultation with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney, no charges will be sought.
Last May at Briar Woods, there was another alleged assault on four students in a locker room after regular hours at the school. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Department says it conducted numerous interviews but apparently did not find evidence to charge anyone. The department says all four students did not wish to proceed with any charges outside of the school.
