Coach of the Year

John Oxton, Lakeville North (Lakeville)
Despite a 26-5 record that sent the Panthers to the 4A state title game, Oxton saved his best coaching of the year for the final game of the season: trailing top-seeded Hopkins by five with 36 seconds remaining, Lakeville North came back to win, 84-82. 

First Team

G Tyus Jones, Apple Valley (Apple Valley), 6-1, Sr. (Player of the Year)
Before heading to Duke to play for Coach K, Jones averaged 25.6 points, 8.1 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game.

G J.P. Macura, Lakeville North (Lakeville), 6-5, Sr.
A prodigious scorer who takes his talents to Xavier next fall, Macura averaged 31.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while guiding the Panthers to this year’s 4A state title.

F Reid Travis, DeLaSalle (Minneapolis), 6-8, Sr.
With this future Stanford Cardinal averaging 20.1 points and 8.2 rebounds the Islanders cruised to and through the state tournament, winning a third consecutive 3A title. 

F Brian Goodwin, Belgrade Brooten Elrosa (Belgrade), 6-4, Sr.
Behind Goodwin’s 24.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and six assists per game the Jaguars won 31 of 32 games and the Class A state title.

C Alex Illikainen, Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids), 6-9, Jr.
One of the state’s top recruits for the Class of 2015, Illikainen averaged 25.5 points and 11 boards for the Thunderhawks.

G Matt Ambriz, Woodbury (Woodbury), 6-1, Sr.

G Wheeler Baker, Osseo (Osseo), 6-2, Sr.

F Amir Coffey, Hopkins (Minnetonka), 6-4, So.

F Sam Neumann, Cretin Derham Hall (St. Paul), 6-7, Jr.
