Only 35 years-old and in his first season as a head coach, this former UNLV Runnin’ Rebel is off to a remarkable start, guiding the Stars to a 26-1 record and the Division III state championship.
First Team
F Kelly Oubre Findlay Prep (Henderson), 6-7, Sr. (Player of the Year)
Kansas signee led team to 31-5 record, averaging 22.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 2.5 assists a game.
G Noah Robotham, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), 5-11, Sr.
Described by one coach as “the most important player on the best team” Robotham averaged 16 points, 7.1 assists, and 3.1 steals for the 30-3 Division I state champions.
G Trae-Carter Wells, Reed (Sparks), 6-3, Sr.
Also a dominating wide receiver for the Huskies, Carter-Wells averaged 17.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.5 steals for the Division I North champions.
G Jalil Walker, North Valleys (Reno), 6-4, Sr.
The state’s third-highest scorer (23.4 points per game) Walker also tossed in 8.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game for the Panthers.
C Stephen Zimmerman, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), 7-0, Jr.
Exceptionally athletic for his size, this highly coveted Class of 2015 recruit helped the Gaels claim the Division I state title by averaging 15.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and three blocks per game.
