Coach of the Year
Don Wheeler, Manchester Central (Manchester)
Molding Brett Hanson into one of the state’s top players and seamlessly integrating two new starters (Jon and Joe Martin) into the program transformed the Little Green into an unstoppable force that won all 25 games they played and their first Division I state title since 2006.
G Eric Gendron, Merrimack (Merrimack), 6-3, Sr. (Player of the Year)
In a tight Division I state championship loss to undefeated Manchester Central, Gendron (who averaged four assists and two steals this year) racked up 32 points and 14 rebounds, well above his already stellar season averages of 20.3 and 7.5, respectively.
G Brett Hanson, Manchester Central (Manchester), 6-3, Jr.
Hanson averaged 21.5 points, five rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 3.2 steals, but his greatest contribution came via a 24-point effort during the Little Green’s Division I state title game victory over Eric Gendron and Merrimack.
G Jourdain Bell, Bishop Brady (Concord) 6-2, Jr.
Employing dynamic speed on the floor, Bell averaged 18.3 points per game (he scored 27 in an overtime loss to eventual state champion Pembroke Academy) as the Giants reached the Division II quarterfinals.

The Pioneers reached the quarterfinals of the Division I state tournament thanks to this future Boston College Eagle baseball player’s 17 points and 10.7 boards per game.

A nightmare to defend or box-out near the rim, Williams averaged 19.6 points and 12.5 boards for the 21-1 Spartans who claimed the Division II state title.
