Claudie Thompson, Silver
Thompson’s Fighting Colts didn’t lose during the final month of the season. His team won 14 consecutive games (11 of them by double-digits) as it cruised through the Class 3A tournament and claimed its first state title since 1997.

SS Jared Mang (PLAYER OF THE YEAR) Los Alamos, Jr.
By the end of a season that culminated with the Hilltoppers reaching the Class 4A state quarterfinals, Mang — also a fantastic pitcher with an 8-2 record and 1.01 ERA — hit .605 with 35 runs scored and 44 RBI.

P Keenan Dodd, Hope Christian (Albuquerque), Sr.
Although the righty was just as spectacular at the plate (.472 average, eight home runs, 46 RBI, .910 slugging percentage, 20 stolen bases), Dodd’s dominance on the mound (7-1, 1.97 ERA, 88 strikeouts, two no-hitters) propelled the Huskies to the Class 3A state semifinals.

P Caleb Prentiss, Carlsbad, Sr.
The tall lefty baffled opposing hitters, striking out 82 of them, while surrendering just 39 hits, 20 walks and 13 earned runs in 66.1 innings. He compiled an 8-1 record.

C Andrew Pratt, La Cueva (Albuquerque), Jr.
The main power source for the Class 5A state champions, Pratt hit .458, clubbed eight home runs and drove in 38 runs.

1B Andrew Stubbs, Eldorado (Albuquerque), Jr.
The perfect complement to his teammate Austin Treadwell, Stubbs hit .430 with 42 RBI, two of which came in the victory over Mayfield that advanced Eldorado to the 5A state title game.

2B Alex Howard, La Cueva (Albuquerque), Sr.
Nearly unhittable as a pitcher (8-0, 1.05 ERA, 32 strikeouts, .164 opponents average) Howard somehow outdid himself at the plate, hitting .427, scoring 28 runs, smashing 11 extra-base hits and driving in 18 runs for the Class 5A state champions.

3B Carlos Ramirez, Valencia (Los Lunas), Jr.
Thanks in large part to the third baseman's .423 average, 29 RBI and 29 runs scored, the Jaguars reached the quarterfinals of the Class 4A state tournament.

OF Austin Treadwell, Eldorado (Albuquerque), Jr.
A .330 hitter for the 5A state runner-up, Treadwell — who has committed to the University of New Mexico — also notched 24 RBI and scored 24 runs.

OF Jesse Becton, La Cueva (Albuquerque), Jr.
In addition to hitting .392, scoring 38 runs and driving in 17 runs, Becton was a threat on the basepaths with eight steals.
