Coach of the Year

Rich Slater, Long Island Lutheran (Brookville)
Slater guided the Crusaders to their first Class AA Federation title and a spot in the national USA TODAY Super 25 rankings.

 

First Team

G Sierra Calhoun, Christ the King (Middle Village), 6-0, Sr. (Player of the Year)
The New York Gatorade Player of the Year and Duke University signee averaged 24 points, more than nine rebounds, four steals and more than three assists per game.

G Bianca Cueves, Nazareth (Brooklyn) 5-6, Sr.
The University of South Carolina signee averaged more than 22 points and more than four steals per contest.

G Mariah Ruff, Oneonta, 5-8, Sr.
The St. Bonaventure University signee was named New York’s Miss Basketball after averaging more than 17 points, more than seven rebounds and more than six assists per game during her final high school hoops season.

F Maria Backman, Cardinal Spellman (Bronx), 6-1, Sr.
The University Michigan signee led Spellman to the Catholic Archdiocesan tournament title.

F Jalay Knowles, Ossining, 6-0, Jr.
The talented post player averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds per contest en route to helping Ossining capture the AA state title.
