Coach of the Year

Keith Honore, Potomac
Guided Potomac to a 28-1 record and the Class 5A state championship; the school’s first since 1995.


First Team

G Jeremy Sheppard, John Marshall (Richmond), 6-0, Soph. 
Running the point for the Class 3A state champions, Sheppard was one of the state’s most prominent scoring threats from the perimeter averaging 19.1 points per game with 85 three pointers made during the season.

G Caleb Turner, Floyd County, 6-2, Sr. (Player of the Year) 
The player of the year averaged 36.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.2 steals, and one assist per game en route to becoming the VHSL career scoring leader (2,768 points).  Turner also owns a state record for 3-pointers made (336) and set a national prep record when he made all 33 of his free throw attempts in Floyd County’s season opener.

C Trey Porter, Potomac (Dumfries), 6-10, Sr.   
A George Mason signee, Porter’s post presence was a big part of Potomac’s Class 5A state championship run leading his team with 18 points and six blocks in the 5A title game.  For the season, he averaged 15.6 points and 4.0 blocks per game. 

F De’Monte Buckingham, Henrico (Fairfield), 6-3, Soph.  
With colleges already extending scholarship offers, Buckingham put together one of the best seasons at the 5A level averaging 20 points and 12 rebounds per game.

F Marco Haskins, Colonial Forge (Stafford), 6-4, Jr.  
The leading scorer for the Class 6A state champs, Haskins has already scored over 1,000 career points and is quickly rising up the board as one of the state’s best players.

Second Team

G Troy Locke, Norcom (Portsmouth), 6-3, Sr.

G Kenny Williams, LC Bird (Dale), 6-3, Jr.

C Darius Bolstad (Landstown), 6-7, Jr.

F Nate Jones, Radford, 6-4, Sr.

F Randy Haynes, Potomac (Dumfries), 6-4, Sr.
