COACH OF THE YEAR

Robert Shields, Bridgeport
Shields’ third state championship (class AA) as a coach came with a Bridgeport team that set a school record for wins in a season (32).
FIRST TEAM

P Seth Kinker(PLAYER OF THE YEAR), Cabell Midland (Ona), Sr.
Kinker went 9-3 with a 0.33 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 84 innings. He also batted .361 and drove in 28 runs.

P Jared Silva, Washington (Charles Town), Sr.
The right-hander threw two no hitters on his way to putting up 69 strikeouts and a 0.80 ERA.

C Travis Renner, University (Morgantown), Sr.
The senior catcher hit .530 with a couple of home runs and 27 RBI while throwing out 75 percent of runners attempting to steal.

1B Tyler Skidmore, Bridgeport, Sr.
Skidmore played a big defensive game and batted .426 with 36 RBI for the state AA champs.

2B Jacob Fisher, Sissonville (Charleston), So.
The quick-footed second baseman hit for a .471 average and stole 46 bases.

SS Jimmy Galusky, Preston (Kingwood), Sr.
Galusky put up a .558 average, collecting 22 extra base hits and 54 RBI while adding 32 steals.

3B Joey Mundy, Huntington, Sr.
Mundy batted .480, hitting five home runs and knocking in 35 runs.

OF Shaun Dotson, Herbert Hoover (Clendenin), Sr.
Dotson smacked nine home runs and had 39 RBI on his way to a .458 batting average.

OF Dylan Frye, Ritchie County (Ellenboro), Sr.
Frye batted .444 with nine doubles, two triples and two home runs. He added 14 RBI and 24 stolen bases.

OF Austin Norman, Fairmont Senior, Sr.
The outfielder powered his team to a state AA semifinal appearance, batting .418 with 12 home runs.
