Coach of the Year: Tiffany Frazier Bruton

The affable Bruton has built the Lady Cavaliers into a Class 2A powerhouse that will be strong for years to come. Featuring just one senior, the District 1-2A champs went 25-6 overall and advanced to the state semifinals where they lost 4-1 to Menard.

Player of the Year: Katie Smith, Airline, Senior

A rifle arm capable of throwing out runners from deep in the hole was key in this Louisiana Tech-signee’s selection for the top player honor. The Lady Viking shortstop hit .438 with 3 homers, 24 RBIs and slapped 13 doubles.

Pitcher of the Year: Carolina Sanchez, Evangel, Senior

The Louisiana Tech-signee has been the area’s most feared pitcher over the past two seasons. She was 17-9 on the season and took the team to a Class 3A state quarterfinal berth. She posted a 1.68 ERA with 176 strikeouts in 175 innings while leading Evangel in batting with a .382 average with six homeruns.
