It’s going to be a dogfight to the finish in District 26-5A, and it’s all because of a pair of results on October 10th. McCallum’s 42-23 win over LBJ and Travis’ knocking off Crockett, things have gotten interesting atop the district standings: those four teams have joined Bastrop in a five-way tie for first place. Two games this week will go a long way toward eliminating a pair of teams from contention. LBJ is already down a tie-breaker with McCallum, but has a shot at getting back into the win column against Cedar Creek. It’s the Knights at McCallum who have the key matchup. LBJ was a district heavyweight, but Bastrop was right there with them. If the Knights can knock off Bastrop Friday night, it’ll own tie-breakers over the two teams that are the biggest threat to the top spot. A loss, and the race gets thrown back up in the air. Should be fun.
