Mt. Clemens, 6-0, Jr. G

Leader of the 24-2 Bathers averaged 20 points and five steals as Mt. Clemens advanced to the Class C quarterfinals, losing to eventual state champion Detroit Consortium.

Coach Jermaine Jackson: “He’s a great player. He’s getting better and better every day.”

Drew Cushingberry

Romeo, 6-4, Sr. F

A versatile performer, he averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Coach Marvin Cushingberry: “Drew has the gift to see a play developing three frames before they happen, and a deadly jump shot, which makes him a threat every time he touches the ball.”

Kenny Goins

Warren Mott, 6-8, Sr. F (captain)

Had a banner senior season, averaging 21.2 points and 14.9 rebounds, and had a double-double in every game this season. Had two triple-doubles with blocked shots. Was dominant on defense, averaging 4.8 blocked shots, was named Macomb County player of the year.

Coach Jeff Olind: “What most people don’t know is Kenny is an honor-roll student. He got a 29 on the ACT, was student class president all four years of high school and is even a better person than he is basketball player.”

Tony Jackson

Warren Fitzgerald, 6-3, Sr. F

Playing out of position, Jackson starred inside for a small team, averaging 23.9 points and 12.2 rebounds.

Coach Joe Kopicki: “Tony is just a very talented player who is even a better kid. Basketball is very important to him. He loves working on his game — a true gym rat.”

Daniel Dixon

Grosse Pointe South, 6-9, Sr. C

Averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds, four blocked shots and two assists. Shot 56% from the field and 72% from the free- throw line.

Coach Troy Glasser: “Daniel is an outstanding individual with an exceptional work ethic. He is a skilled, athletic big man who can play facing the basket or with his back to the basket.”
