Here are the nominees for American Family Insurance ALL-USA IOWA performer of the week:
Nick Easley, Newton: Easley kicked a game-winning 35-yard field goal with 6.5 seconds on the clock in Newton’s 17-14 victory against Ballard of Huxley. He also caught four passes for 42 yards, including an 18-yarder to set up his game-winning kick, and recovered a fumble at the end of the contest.
Clayton Kiefer, Wayne (Corydon): Kiefer scored a national eight-player best 11 touchdowns in Monday’s 86-60 win over Twin Cedars of Bussey. He rushed for 10 scores and returned a kickoff 71 yards for another touchdown. His rushing touchdowns covered 10, 3, 32, 59, 3, 4, 5, 12, 9 and 22 yards.
Daryn Sebelius, Washington: The senior completed 15 of 19 passes for 242 yards and five touchdowns, ran for 197 yards and another score, intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble in Washington’s 65-20 win over Fort Madison.
Ethan Steinbronn, West Central (Maynard): Steinbronn threw for 415 yards and four touchdowns and added two rushing touchdowns as his team beat Kee of Lansing 58-54 in an eight-player contest.
Eric Stoakes, Gladbrook-Reinbeck: Stoakes ran for 326 yards and seven touchdowns in a 50-7 rout of North Tama of Traer. He has 893 yards rushing this season.
