Montverde (Montverde, Fla.) forward Ben Simmons called it “a load off.”

Sure, there were things that he missed about the recruitment process – the visits, the relationships with different coaches, the attention, etc. – but, in the end, Simmons, the No. 1 overall player in the 2015 class, said he “wouldn’t want to have to deal with making that decision again.”

“I’d see some of my teammates in AAU going through the recruitment all summer and a part of me missed it,” said Simmons, who committed to LSU last October and plans to sign early. “But I’m glad to have it done with. I only have to focus on basketball and getting better now.”
