Detroit Renaissance 18, Detroit Mumford 3: Jasmine Hammond had five strikeouts, allowing one hit and two walks for Renaissance (10-2). Autumn Hoeraul went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Brianna Ross went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Amber Marsh had a triple and two walks.


Detroit Edison 20, Melvindale AB&T 5: Kohlten Ratliff had four strike outs, allowing five walks and two hits for Detroit Edison (3-2). Edison’s Joe Downer went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and one home run; and William Woods went 4-for-4 with five RBIs. Melvindale ABT is 5-2.

Grosse Pointe South 3, Utica Eisenhower 2: Andrew Eaton pitched the first five innings and struck out six, allowing one earned run and three walks for South (2-5, 1-0 MAC Red). Ron Williams hit the game-winning double and drove in one run and Justin McMahon went 2-for-4. Dan Chmielewski had three hits and one RBI for Eisenhower (0-1 MAC Red).

Sterling Heights Stevenson 7, Clinton Twp. Chippewa Valley 4: Zach McGuire pitched four innings with 10 strikeouts, allowing six hits, two runs and one walk for Stevenson (3-0, 1-0 MAC Red). McGuire went 4-for-4 and scored two runs, McCauley went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Brandon Williams went 3-for-4 with one RBI for Stevenson. Reed Adams went 2-for-4 with one RBI and Brandon Murphy went 2-for-4 with one RBI for Chippewa Valley (3-4, 0-1 MAC Red).

Trenton 9, Taylor Truman 2: Nick Lavell pitched a complete game with five strikeouts, allowing four hits and two walks for Trenton (7-3, 4-1 Downriver). Drew Johnson went 2-for-3 with one RBI, three runs and five stolen bases and Solomon Markus went 3-for-4 with one RBI and scored two runs for Trenton. Nick Harvat went 1-for-2 for Truman (1-6, 0-4 Downriver).

Warren Cousino 7, Marine City 2: Sean Petroski pitched five innings with four strikeouts, allowing two hits and one run for Cousino (7-0, 1-0 MAC Gold). Nathan Waak went 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored. Mike Heck went 1-for-2 with one RBI for Marine City (0-2, 0-1 MAC Gold).

Woodhaven 5, Southgate Anderson 4: Colin Moran pitched the final five innings of the game while striking out two, allowing two hits, three walks and no earned runs for Woodhaven (4-4, 3-3 Downriver). Robert Oliver hit a single in the bottom 10th that allowed Brendan Lyons to score the winning run. Oliver went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one walk and Lyons went 4-for-4 with a double and scored two runs. Brandon Ostowski went 2-for-4 and Tyler Hall went 2-for-5 and scored one run for Southgate (2-3 Downriver).

Track and Field

Birmingham Brother Rice 75, Detroit U-D Jesuit 53: Grant Perry leaped 18.7 feet to win the long jump and won the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.1 seconds for Brother Rice. Michael Carey won the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 15.4 seconds and also won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 40.3 seconds.

Girls soccer

Northville 4, Plymouth Salem 0: Jamie Cheslik had two goals and an assist and Gabby Mencotti and each scored a goal for Northville (6-0). Emily Maresh had three saves and Olivia Ulman had two saves for Northville. Salem is 2-2.
