Girls basketball: Pats top Seton

Three Union County players scored in double figures Wednesday as the visiting Patriots topped Seton Catholic 69-27.

Maddie Fulton paced the Patriots with 22 points, while Sierra Dowler and Tanner Henry each added 10. Emily Goecke contributed nine.

The Patriots, who are 4-2 entering a Saturday game against Morristown, turned the ball over just four times and committed eight fouls.

“We did what we needed to do,” Patriot coach Scott Gray said. “Our schedule gets tougher the next three or four games, and we have to be playing at a high level.”

Megan Schroeder led Seton with 15 points, and Maggie Westjohn added six.

Randolph Southern limited Daleville to four first-half points Wednesday on the way to a 42-22 victory.

Morgan Acton led the Rebels with 18 points and five rebounds. Logan Saylor added seven points, five steals and four assists.

The Rebels (6-1) play Wapahani on Saturday.

Delta blew open a close game with a big third quarter Wednesday and topped Winchester 48-38.

Mariah Roberts scored 11 points for Winchester.

Middle school basketball: Dennis earns sweep

Rickie Wedlow scored 19 points to help the Dennis seventh-grade boys basketball team defeat Sunman Dearborn 34-32. Darius Porfidio-Brown added nine points for the 3-0 seventh-graders.

Dennis’ eighth-grade boys team downed Sunman Dearborn 35-30 behind 21 points from Jalen Hillard and 11 points from Phillip Hobbs. The eighth-graders are 2-1.

Middle school basketball: Union City downs Union

Cameron Luster scored nine points and Akili Roberts added eight as Union City defeated Union 36-29 in eighth-grade basketball on Tuesday.

Middle school basketball: Driver, Southern split

Driver and Randolph Southern split on Tuesday with Driver winning the seventh-grade game 48-35, and Randolph Southern taking the eighth-grade contest 39-26.

Ross Culy scored 13 points and Cole Campbell added 10 for the Driver seventh grade. Gavin Thompson paced the eighth grade with 13 points.

Middle school basketball: Rebels stop Seton

Randolph Southern stopped Seton Catholic 44-34 in girls basketball on Tuesday.

Cierra Tomey scored a game-high 19 points for the Rebels, while Madelyn Mikesell added 10. Paige Klaine led Seton with nine points.
