For the third year, we’ve put together the American Family Insurance Preseason ALL-USA Ozarks football team.
Many players will be recognized at the end of the season when coaches and reporters vote on respective all-everything teams for every class and conference, but for the sake of this exercise, the News-Leader looked across the Ozarks to put together one team.
Players listed below are athletes we identified as having the potential for great seasons in 2014, largely based on past high school football performances and from conversations with coaches.
One of the great things about football is that the games aren’t played on paper. Each player listed below will have the opportunity to prove his worth, and each player not listed will have the opportunity to make us look silly for not choosing him.
There are undoubtedly players left off the list. I wish I could choose five quarterbacks, eight running backs and a dozen defensive linemen to really make this dream team the best it could be. Below, you will find 27 names.
