CHESAPEAKE— A senior at Oscar Smith High, DeShawn McClease (#22) is continuing the legacy of the great running backs that came before him with 1,558 running yards and 28 touchdowns during the 2013 season.
McClease was given the option to playing for UNC, Louisville, and Duke but in the end the Oscar Smith Tiger’s decision was to keep his talent in-state by giving a verbal agreement to play for Virginia Tech in the fall of 2015.
“He’s going to break all the Smith rushing records as long as he stays healthy this year. He’ll have the touchdown record, the yardage record, everything. There have been a lot of good backs here, so it says a lot about him.” Remarks Head coach for the Tigers, Richard Morgan.
You can catch McClease and the rest of the 2014 Oscar Smith Tigers as they take on the USA Today 2013 Nation Champion Booker T. Washington of Miami this Saturday at Oscar Smith High School.
