Auburn commit Trayvon Reed pleads guilty to misdemeanor assault

AUBURN — Trayvon Reed, the 7-foot-1 Auburn commit, pleaded guilty to second-degree misdemeanor assault on Friday for charges stemming from his July arrest in Maryland.

Reed’s attorney, David Putzi, told the Baltimore Sun sentencing was pushed back because neither Reed nor the officer he was accused of assaulting outside a College Park, Maryland convenience store on July 30, could appear in court. The previous court date was set for Dec. 19.
