Lakewood beat Doherty 62-31 in a second round playoff game Friday night at Lakewood High School.
The Tigers were led by senior Jessica Brooks who finished with 18 points. Many players had to step up with leading scorer Mackenzie Forrest in foul trouble. The sophomore scored zero points in the first half after picking up three fouls in limited minutes.
It wasn’t a problem as Brooks and sophomore McKenna Bishop did more than enough damage to lead the Tigers to a victory.
At 23-1, Lakewood now prepares to host a Sweet 16 game against 5A power Highlands Ranch. The Falcons advances with a 91-53 win over Cherokee Trail.
