A Bloomfield Hills High School basketball star was formally charged in Oakland County Circuit Court this afternoon with two counts of home invasion — felonies that could send him to prison for up to 15 years.
Khalil Gracey, 17, is accused, along with two other teens, of a string of burglaries in February and March. Police say they broke into homes in Bloomfield Township and Bloomfield Hills, and stole thousands of dollars in cash, athletic shoes and head phones.
Gracey appeared briefly in court, with his attorney, Elbert Hatchett. Judge Wendy Potts entered a not guilty plea for him and set a trial date of June 9.
Gracey remains free on a $25,000 personal bond.
Also charged are Michael Pickens, 17, and Carrington Simons, 18. Both are free on bond and face arraignments.
