Boothbay basketball coach up for national honor

(NEWS CENTER)– The road to naming America’s best high school boys basketball coach has entered its final stage. It started with 306 of the country’s top high school boys hoop coaches, and now there are 10 remaining.

One of them is I.J. Pinkham of Boothbay. Pinkham won the Northeast Regional by picking up 127,886 votes. During his 43-year career, Pinkham has close to 600 career wins and he has taken teams to the Class ‘C’ state championship game five times.

The national coach of the year gets $2,000 for his school. Final round voting begins at noon Friday and you can vote by clicking on this LINK
