Roncalli senior Josh Erickson was asked to do a lot for the Jets this season, and for his efforts was recently named the Olympian Conference boys basketball player of the year as well as a first team all-OC selection.
Erickson, who averaged 17 points per game, led Roncalli to the WIAA State semifinals where the Jets fell just short against Brown Deer 48-45.
Also named first team were teammate Nick Stelzer (sr.) and Valders’ Zack Goedeke (sr.). Goedeke nearly averaged a double-double with 13.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per game for the Vikings while Stelzer averaged 13.1 points and two steals a contest.
Valders also garnered a pair of second team selections in Forrest Fenlon (sr.) and Thomas Schwoerer (jr.). The second team also included another pair of area seniors, Brock Gilsdorf of Reedsville and Manitowoc Lutheran’s Jared Muench.
Three more players earned an honorable mention nod as the Panthers’ Bryce Wenzel (sr.), Lancers’ Adam Schwede (sr.) and Colten Haack of Mishicot (sr.).
