At Freedom, Collin Hofacker scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Jake Green added nine points as the Irish jumped out to a 16-6 first quarter lead and held the Wolves at bay from there.

Freedom led 30-20 at halftime and 47-31 after three quarters while holding the Wolves to 24 percent shooting for the night.

Freedom also won the rebounding battle 35-16.

Zachary Horn paced Winneconne with 10 points.

At Oconto Falls, the Polar Bears led 18-4 after one quarter in the easy win.

Sam Thompson scored 13 points to lead three Hortonville players in double figures. Alex Lasinski added 11 points and Sean Killoren had 10.

At Denmark, Ryan Wolf hit a two-pointer and a three-pointer to start overtime and the Bulldogs held off the Vikings.

Wolf sent the game into overtime, scoring on a layup before New London held off Denmark, which set up for the final shot of regulation.

Wolf finished with 13 points, while Jacob Pinch added 10.

“We found a way to win,” New London coach Ken Jagiello said. “We played very good defense. Both teams were scrappy and were working hard. We’re very happy because we’ve had our lumps this season.”

The Bulldogs won despite struggling from the line. New London was four-for-15 from the free throw line, including two-for-eight in overtime, missing two front ends of the bonus.

Shiocton 70, Iola-Scandinavia 48

At Shiocton, freshman Nathan Schmidt poured in 31 points and Patrick Brouillard added 19 as the Chiefs rolled at home.

Schmidt was hot all night, connecting on 69 percent of his shots, including five three-pointers.

“He was knocking down tough shots and his teammates kept feeding him the ball,” Shiocton coach Chad Schmidt said. “He was in a groove. He had a couple of post-ups. His teammates did a nice job realziing he was hot right away. He was in the zone. He played pretty special tonight.”

Shiocton led 14-6 after one quarter and 29-25 at halftime, before pulling away in the third quarter.
