Kimberly 52, Appleton West 50

At Appleton, Kimberly battled back from an early deficit as Ben Boots scored a game-high 21 points.

Austin Berlick had the hot hand for Appleton West with 19 points.

The Terrors came out fast, taking a 19-9 lead after one, but Kimberly closed to within 27-22 at halftime before taking a 34-30 lead after three.

“We weren’t the wisest with the ball at times and I felt that Kimberly took advantage of their ability to get to the rim,” West coach Brennan Hussey said.

The Terrors trailed by eight with two minutes to go before closing to within one. Kimberly, however, sealed the win at the line.

At Marinette, Kyle Witthuhn poured in 17 points as the Polar Bears dominated throughout.

Hortonville led 14-4 after one quarter and steadily upped its lead to 32-9 at halftime and 49-16 after three.

Marcus Maguire and Zach DeLong had six points each for Marinette.

At Clintonville, Andy Schmidt scored 17 points and Turner Doornink added 11 as the Truckers rallied from a halftime deficit to post the win.

Clintonville hit 50 percent of its field goals, including going four-for-seven from three-point range.

New London, which connected on just 31 percent of its shots, was led by Jacob Pinch’s 17 points and Ryan Krueger’s 12.

At Freedom, the Irish hit on 52 percent of their shots from the field as they built a big lead through the first half.

Brett Schommer and Mike Waters scored 14 points each to lead Freedom.

Brillion was led by Tyler Lemke and Zach Jensen, both with 14 points.

Freedom led 19-9 after one quarter and 38-20 at intermission before Brillion stormed back.
