The Concordia University-Chicago men’s basketball has announced that Sheboygan Lutheran senior Tyler Zastrow has committed to the school and will play for the Cougars beginning with the 2014-15 season.
Zastrow led the 25-3 Crusaders to their second Division 5 state tournament in the past three years.
The 5-foot-10-inch guard scored 601 points in his senior year for a 21.4 average. His other significant stats from the season included 133 rebounds, 113 assists, a .497 field goal percentage (161-for-324) and .814 free-throw percentage (153-for-188).
Zastrow was named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association’s Division 5 All-State team and was also awarded honorable mention to the Associated Press All-State team.
“We are very excited to have a player of Tyler’s abilities joining our program,” said Tyler Jones, Concordia-Chicago head men’s basketball coach, in a press release. “His individual skills are without question, but his leadership ability in helping his team to the state tournament twice is even more impressive. We are hoping that he will play a significant role in our fortunes for the next four years.”
