South Amboy 79, East Brunswick Tech 33: Senior guard Steve Herdman scored 27 points, including the 1,000th of his career, to lead South Amboy. Herdman hit the milestone on a first-quarter free throw. He also tallied five assists and five rebounds. Teammate Joe Fruncillo posted 17 points and 11 rebounds for South Amboy. Mark Alston paced East Brunswick Tech with 22 points.
Piscataway Tech 47, South Plainfield 43: Jordan Lackey scored 18 and Kyle Wider netted 12, including two 3-point shots late in the fourth quarter, to spark the Raiders. Jordan Hankerson paced South Plainfield with 16 points.
Spotswood 50, Metuchen 36: Jake Dadika scored 23 points to lift Spotswood, which broke away with an 18-6 third quarter. Marlon Hart added nine points for the Chargers (11-4). For Metuchen (9-6), Thomas Chalker tallied 11 points and six assists and Hunter Clarke added eight points and 11 rebounds.
Governor Livingston 58, Rahway 49: Javon Reis-Wilson scored 15 points, Rob Imbalzano added 13 and John Iorio netted 11 as the Highlanders improved to 6-9. Rahway fell to 2-14.
Roselle 61, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 58 (OT): Leo Ramos scored 27 points to spark the Raiders, who rallied from a nine-point deficit to force overtime before falling.
St. Mary-Elizabeth 52, Westfield 42: David Kane scored 14 points and Chris Boutsikaris chipped in 13 as the Blue Devils fell to 8-8.
St. Peter’s Prep 55, Gill St. Bernard’s 50: Ian Demarest registered 13 points and nine rebounds for Gill, which led by 10 at halftime. The Knights played without sophomore guard Tyus Battle, who is sidelined by a wrist injury.
Middlesex 63, Highland Park 34: Jarrett Bogus led Middlesex with 18 points.
South River 69, Dunellen 61: Sean Darrar tallied 23 points and Matt Martinez netted 19 for South River. Nick Petrozelli paced Dunellen with 17 points.
John F. Kennedy 52, Bishop Ahr 35: Joe Duffy scored a team-high 11 points for John F. Kennedy (8-7), which pulled away with a 22-7 fourth quarter. Owen McLeod and Tom Weiler each scored 11 for Bishop Ahr (8-6).
Calvary Christian 50, Somerset Tech 46: Devin Gardner scored 12 points and Terrance Driscull added 10 as Somerset Tech fell to 2-11.
