South River 81, Dunellen 70 (OT): Senior guard Matt Martinez scored 19 of his game-high 33 points in the second half, including five in overtime, as South River (3-3) overcame a 16-point second half deficit. The Rams used a 25-12 fourth quarter to forge a tie before outscoring Dunellen 13-2 in overtime. Sean Darrar, who scored 26 points, hit three 3-pointers in the final three minutes of regulation to propel the Rams. Junior David Johnson led the Destroyers (4-3) with 26 points while Danny Russomanno added 14.
St. Joseph 83, Perth Amboy 40: Karl Towns recorded his third straight triple-double with 30 points, 21 rebounds, 10 blocks, and seven assists as St. Joseph improved to 7-0. Marques Townes added 26 points, five boards, and three steals for the Falcons. Carlos Done scored 13 points for Perth Amboy (3-3).
J.F. Kennedy 64, Metuchen 61 (OT): Stepp Oziegbe scored 21 points, Joe Duffy netted 14, and Andrew Allen added 10 second-half points to lead J.F. Kennedy (5-1), which put together an 18-3 third quarter after being down 10 at halftime. Metuchen (3-3) though used a 19-10 fourth quarter to send the game to overtime, as Artie Flaherty scored on a putback at the buzzer to force the extra period. Flaherty finished with 20 points while Evan Collier led all scorers with 25 for the Bulldogs.
Spotswood 69, Piscataway Tech 40: Jake Dadika scored 29 points along with five assists to power Spotswood (3-2). Marlon Hart scored 12 of his 19 points in the first half to help fuel the Chargers, who shot 60 percent from the field in the first half. Jordan Lackey scored 21 points to lead Piscataway Tech (0-4).
South Plainfield 42, Middlesex 32: Roemello Monroe scored eight of his 12 points in the fourth quarter to power South Plainfield (3-4), which held a 16-6 margin in the fourth after the teams were tied 26-26. Chris Mathis added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Tigers while Jarrett Bogus scored 13 points to lead Middlesex (4-2).
Carteret 57, Highland Park 24: Jaquan Robertson scored 20 points and Amir Alford added 10 to pace Carteret (4-3). William Jacob-Perez had seven points for Highland Park (0-5).
South Amboy 65, East Brunswick Tech 51: Steve Herdman scored 16 points and Joe Fruncillo added 15 to lead a balanced output from South Amboy (4-2). Nick Kales chipped in 13 points for the Governors. Mark Alston led all scorers with 36 points in a losing effort for East Brunswick Tech (1-3).
Timothy Christian 64, Wardlaw-Hartridge 27: Zach Coyle and Josh Decker each scored 13 points, Matt DiLeo added 12, and Matt Harris notched nine points and 11 rebounds to lead Timothy Christian (3-4). Mike Newman scored 11 points for Wardlaw-Hartridge (1-6).
New Providence 57, Roselle Park 17: Tyler Curto scored 11 points and Jordan Morang and Dylan Thomas each added eight to lead New Providence (3-3).
