Sheb. South 43, Pulaski 42 (OT)

The Redwings picked up a big FRCC road victory, knocking off the defending WIAA Division 2 state champion.

“This is a huge win for us in a very tough environment,” said South coach Mike Rank. “It was a true team win. Any win you get in this conference on the road, especially in overtime, is an accomplishment.”

South (6-5, 4-2 FRCC) led most of the way before Pulaski (7-3, 3-3) took the lead in the fourth quarter. The Redwings battled back to force overtime, and in overtime, “it was a matter of us getting a couple stops and making one more free throw than they did,” said Rank, ending with big defensive stop and rebound on the final play.

Jared Reklaitis led South with 11 points, while TJ Pitsch had eight and Tyler Zietz seven. Luke VanLanen had 18 points for Pulaski. South hosts Notre Dame next Friday for Parents Night.
