Sheboygan South’s boys basketball team captured a 21-8 lead at home against Green Bay West and looked poised to breeze to a Fox River Classic Conference win on Tuesday.

The Redwings got the win — by a score of 68-64 — but had to survive a bout in overtime to do so after the Wildcats roared back over the final three quarters of regulation.

“I think we started out really well. …” South coach Mike Rank said. “We kind of let our foot off the gas a little bit.”

Matt Miller scored all 15 of his team-high points from behind the 3-point line and Conner Harrison pitched in nine points to help push South (7-6, 5-3 FRCC).

Harrison “really came through” in the second half, when he scored nine points, said Rank, who noted Miller’s breakout performance also was key for South.

Shawntae Bryant put up a game-high 17 points and Rajon Hall had 10 to help lead West (3-10, 1-8 FRCC), which trailed by 10 points at halftime before outscoring South 36-26 in the second half to close the gap.
