Springs 69, New Holstein 42: Coming off a disheartening loss at home to Winnebago Lutheran last Thursday, the St. Mary’s Springs boys basketball team responded with a nice performance Saturday night with a 69-42 nonconference win over New Holstein in Fond du Lac.

The Ledgers led by 11 after one quarter and then held the Huskies (2-10) to 12 points over the next two quarters while expanding the margin.

Colin Ottery had 20 points for Springs (8-4, 3-4 Flyway), while Corey Nies added 13.

“It was a good answer for us after Thursday night,” Ledgers coach Kyle Krueger said. “We had excellent intensity throughout the game. We played a complete 32 minutes and spread the ball around well.”
