Joe Smies carded a field-leading 3-over-par 39 and Oostburg’s boys golf team defeated defending Central Lakeshore Conference champion Kohler 168-187 Thursday at Blackwolf Run.

Both teams braved light rain and temperatures in the low 40s with wind gusts of 20 miles per hour.

Oostburg’s Josh Smies and Ray Kolocek finished two strokes behind at 41.

Derek Egbert scored a 42 to lead Kohler.

Elkhart Lake’s Antonio Bett shot a 7-over 42 to lead the field at the CLC dual on Quit-Qui-Oc Golf Club’s front 9.

Reid Rumack’s 45 led Random Lake’s lineup.

Ozaukee’s Austin Bares paced the field with a 10-over 46, but consistent play up and down Howards Grove’s lineup gave the Tigers the narrow edge.

Sheboygan South’s and Sheboygan North’s boys golf teams finished a few strokes apart — South ahead by two — and finished in ninth and 10th place in the Manty Golf Invite at Royal St. Patrick’s.

South’s TJ Pitsch shot a 40 and finished in a tie for second place individually.

Ellis Kirchenwitz led North with a 44.

Notre Dame carded a 159 and finished seven strokes ahead of second-place De Pere. Notre Dame’s Robert Petitjean carded a field-best 37.
