Billy Wagner and Andrew Bulson combined to outscore host Albertus Magnus in the Our Lady of Lourdes boys lacrosse team’s 13-7 victory on Wednesday.
“It was a good win, especially coming off the loss on Saturday (to Clarkstown North),” said Lourdes coach Chris Malet, whose team improved to 5-1. “We actually dominated from start to the finish, which was very nice. We’ve been waiting for that all year.”
Wagner led the Warriors with five goals and two assists, while Bulson scored four goals and assisted on four more. Dillon Rispoli provided three goals and three assists, and Corey Mullaly added a goal and two assists.
“There’s very good chemistry there. It’s fun to watch,” Malet said of his starting line. “When the six of them are playing well, we may have six of the better offensive players in the area.”
Matt Sayegh and Andrew Bucher shared time in Lourdes’ goal, combining to turn away nine shots.
Lourdes visits Haldane on Tuesday before hosting North Salem on Thursday. Last year, Lourdes and Haldane met in a Section 1 Class C outbracket game, with Haldane defeating Lourdes 11-3.
