The Roy C. Ketcham High School boys soccer team sent off its nine seniors on Senior Day with a 4-0 win over visiting Beacon in Wappingers Falls on Tuesday.
It was the final home game of the regular season for the Indians (9-5), who travel to White Plains on Wednesday before closing out the regular season at John Jay on Monday. The Section 1 Class AA playoffs begin next week.
“We want to go into sectionals with momentum and winning is a confidence builder,” Ketcham coach Scott Grimes said. “I believe we will play well in the next two games and in sectionals.”
Senior forward Jake Keller scored three first-half goals and Connor Tarquini added a second-half goal for Ketcham. It was Keller’s first hat trick of the season.
“He’s someone we look to as an important player to create and score goals,” Grimes said of Keller, a four-year starter.
Anthony Giuffre made two saves for the Indians.
“Overall we played well,” Grimes said. “We moved the ball the way we had hoped to. It was our Senior Day and the seniors did a nice job. Hopefully, we’ll be able to follow up on this with another win (Wednesday).”
