Boys tennis roundup: Ships 3rd after Day 1 of FRCC tourney

The Manitowoc Lincoln boys tennis team stands in third place after the opening day of the Fox River Classic Conference tournament in Green Bay on Wednesday.

Derek Rohrer (No. 2 singles) and Jim Lee (No. 3 singles) will both play in the championship match of their respective flights today.

Rohrer, the fourth seed, squares off with Notre Dame’s Matt Krzewinski, a three seed, in the No. 2 singles championship, while third-seeded Lee takes on Connor Savolt of De Pere for the title at No. 3 singles.

David Wronkowski went 1-1 at No. 1 singles on the first day of the tournament and is slated to play for third place today.

Raghav Sharma is playing for fifth place at No. 4 singles.

Parker Wood and Ryan Specht (No. 1 doubles) and Drew Dixon and Tim Xiong (No. 3 doubles) are each playing for fifth place, while Sean Englebrecht and Steven Manis took ninth at No. 2 doubles.
