Coaches have released the final roster of Brevard County high school football seniors playing in tonight’s Florida East Coast All-Star Game.
Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Vero Beach High. The Space Coast All-Stars will take on a team of seniors from the Treasure Coast in what is planned to become an annual game.
Eau Gallie’s Tim Powers will be the head coach for the Space Coast and will be joined by players Torrance Brown and Lance White. Five Cocoa players in the game are Jamel Jackson, Lorrenzo Pratt, Tavares Parks, Davis Stanley and Lane Burnett; from Titusville are Tommy Cobb and Josh Wayner; and from Palm Bay, Reggie Benjamin, Brian Fallace, Alex Jasmin and Colton Easterling.
Also in the game are Cocoa Beach’s Antoine Griffin and Jamaal Eveillard; Steven Ralph, Dyland Ryland and Alex Bouie from Holy Trinity; and Astronaut’s Tez Keels and Brandon Wright. Austin Downie and J.P. Scone will represent Satellite, while Merritt Island’s Colby Price and Andrew Bocci will play. Melbourne’s Ayshad Thornton, Cole Schmelzer and Brent Diamond are also on the team, along with Brandon Sluder of Bayside.
Heritage will be represented by Dedric Witherspoon, Auston Wolfe, Aaron Wolfe, Brodie Lubelski and Tivy Colderwood; Merritt Island by Colby Price and Andrew Bocci; and Rockledge by Chris Beauford and DeAnthony Henderson. Viera players are Cody Dentmon, Troy Smith and Tony Arce, and Ethan Self will represent Melbourne Central Catholic.
MCC, FAA girls ranked in state poll
Florida Air and Melbourne Central Catholic remained in the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches poll for girls basketball released this week. The Falcons, at 10-4, were ranked fourth in Class 4A, while MCC (14-8) was 10th. Viera was listed among Class 7A teams receiving votes, and Rockledge received votes in 5A.
Baseball tourney planned
On Feb. 4 and 6, Satellite’s baseball program will host a preseason tournament, the Anthony Cerasale Invitational, in honor of the student hit by a car the day after Christmas. Cerasale remains in the hospital.
Proceeds from the games, concessions and T-shirts will go to the family help with medical expenses. Donations will also be accepted.
Games will be played on each day between teams from Cocoa, Florida Air, Palm Bay and Satellite.
