Cayce, SC (WLTX) — Brookland-Cayce High School hosted the ribbon cutting for the opening of their new football stadium.
Fans, students, faculty were present for the ceremony, which included speeches from the Mayor of Cayce, the BC athletic director, and performances from the band.
The stadium will hold 5,000 fans, and the playing field is astro-turf.
Mayor Elise Partin is excited for the future of the new addition.
“We’re so excited for BC and for Lexington Two, and for the city of Cayce,” Partin said.
“Not only is the stadium new, but its stunning, you really don’t see stadiums built to this high level of quality throughout the state, so we’re very excited about what that says about our city, and the level of play thats going to be here.”
The Bearcats’ first home game is against Airport High School on August 29th.
