Broomfield soccer tops Monarch in regular season finale

By

KUSA – The Broomfield Eagles boys’ soccer team finished the regular season 8-4-3 after beating Monarch at home 2-1 on Thursday night. This win helps the Eagles secure a spot in the postseason. Meanwhile, Monarch finishes the regular season 6-4-4.

Broomfield had one of the best goals you’ll ever see in soccer. Porter Milner had an acrobatic flip throw-in into the box while Joe Clouse finished with a header to put the Eagles up 1-0.

In the second half, Armando Ocampo sent a perfect ball across the middle to Luke Cangilla who found the back of the net to put Broomfield up 2-0.

Monarch’s only goal of the match came from a long pass by Zach Langer to Thomas Alder who chipped it over the goalie’s head.
