Bryant and Fayetteville to Battle for 7A Baseball Title

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The Bryant Hornets and the Fayetteville Bulldogs will battle Friday May 23 at Baum Stadium for the 7A baseball title. Bryant defeated Conway 2-0 on Monday behind a solid pitching performance from Zach Johnson.

Johnson tossed seven innings in a complete game shutout against the Wampus Cats. Johnson struck out seven hitters in the win. Bryant head coach Kirk Boch says it was “a relief” when Johnson struck out the final hitter.

Johnson and Bryant will face the Fayetteville Bulldogs following their 5-0 victory over Cabot Monday afternoon. Starter Kyle Plate was lights out from the mound also tossing a complete game shutout with nine strikeouts.

Game time for the championship is 4:30.
