CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Butler High School entered Friday’s game at Myers Park High School on the heels of two blowout victories against East Mecklenburg and Garinger. The Bulldogs’ visit to Myers Park wasn’t as pleasant. The Mustangs had a much-needed bye week to prepare for the Bulldogs, and Scott Chadwick’s team implemented a strong gameplan. Myers Park kept the Bulldogs’ explosive offense in check throughout most of the contest, limiting Butler’s scoring chances. Butler’s defense came to play, however, and Myers Park was unable to capitalize on the play of their defense. Butler held on to win the game, 28-20.
