Baltimore Orioles rookie catcher Caleb Joseph will be inducted into the Franklin High School Athletics Hall of Fame Friday.
Joseph graduated from Franklin in 2005 and went on to play at Lipscomb. The Orioles selected him in the seventh round of the 2008 draft.
Joseph was called up by the Orioles this season after Matt Wieters underwent elbow surgery in July.
Joseph was a four-year starter at Franklin. As a senior he was named All-State, was The Tennessean’s Midstate Player of the Year and led the Rebels to the state tournament.
Joseph’s brother Corban, a second baseman, will also be inducted. He was the Midstate Player of the Year in 2008 and was drafted by the Yankees in the fourth round.
Joining the Josephs in the 2014 class: Karen Hargrove (softball, 2001), Brittney Potts (soccer, 2001), Katy Rayburn (soccer, 2002), Jeff Hall (golf, 2005), Sara Peterson (swimming, 2006), Kelly Flix (wrestling, 2007).
