Emmanuel Greene is landing on everyone’s radar after the summer camp highlight to end all summer camp highlights. Unfortunately for most college coaches, if they’re picking up the phone to call Green today, they’re already late to the party.
A rising sophomore at Coconut Creek High, Green is the latest teen star to rocket toward prominence for something he did without wearing pads. The wide receiver caught a pass, then dumped multiple defensive backs – one more than once – en route to the end zone at the University of Miami’s annual Coach Golden football camp.
As it turns out, Golden didn’t waste any time to firm up his interest in Green. That one play was apparently enough to land the Coconut Creek youngster a scholarship offer to play for the Hurricanes.

There’s little doubt that Green is a special talent, but it might be unfair and unwise to assume that he’ll deliver SportsCenter-ready plays like the one he did at Miami’s camp every week. In fact, you can see highlights from his first full season below. Yes, there is plenty of flash there, but it will be Green’s speed and strength after the initial hit that determine if he can be successful at the next level.
We don’t know if he’ll choose the Hurricanes yet, but based on that #DreamComeTrue line, it sure sounds likely.
