Catholic holds off Siloam Springs comeback attempt

By

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A big day from Andre Sale and some timely defense helped Little Rock Catholic survive Siloam Springs, 30-22, at War Memorial Stadium.

Andre Sale threw two touchdown passes, and the defense came up with a pick-six to provide all the points the Rockets (4-3, 3-1) would need in this 7A/6A Central showdown. The Panthers (3-4, 1-3) made things interesting late, returning a kickoff for a touchdown to pull within 30-22 and then recovering an onside kick with 2:51 left. But quarterback Chris Lampton was sacked, and a couple of penalties backed Siloam Springs up too far to complete the comeback, as the Panthers failed to convert a fourth down.

Catholic is back in action next Friday at Conway. Siloam Springs hosts Greenwood.
