CCC's C.J. Cotman named Player of the Week

By

Clearwater, Florida – C.J. Cotman, sophomore running back at Clearwater Central Catholic High School, is the 10 News Sports Player of the Week.

Last Friday, Cotman made the best of only seven carries, rushing for four touchdowns, leading the Marauders (7-0, 2-0) past Calvary Christian 49-6, in a key District 3A-5 game.

Cotman says it’s a lot of fun being in an offense that can score a lot of points.

“When I’m heading towards the end zone, I’m just trying to always score every time I touch the ball. Trying to put six points, seven points up on the board, always trying to get into the end zone.”

With the victory, the Marauders, currently ranked number one in the state in Class 3A, are just one win away from claiming their third consecutive district title. That opportunity comes this Friday when they play at Admiral Farragut Academy.
