MT. PLEASANT, N.C. — Brandon Blalock’s Central Cabarrus High School Lady Vikings basketball team had no problem opening their season on the road Thursday, topping Mount Pleasant High School 71-50.

Central Cabarrus was led by sophomore Kasey Rowden’s 19 point performance. Rowden also record six steals and two rebounds in the victory. Sophia McFarlane was a force inside, pulling down 10 total rebounds along with seven points and four steals.

Rowden wasn’t the only Viking lighting up the scoreboard, as Justice Wallace (13 points) and Kelsey Adcock (10) also reached double digits.

Mount Pleasant is now 0-3 on the season, and will look for its first victory Monday against Union Academy. Central Cabarrus will also return to the court Monday at Carson.
